Amanda Nicholson

Solicitor

Amanda qualified as a Solicitor in 1998 and has extensive litigation experience. Amanda set up her own firm in 2009 and guided the firm towards its successful transition into an Alternative Business Structure (ABS) in early 2013. Amanda’s focus is on a number of key specialist areas offered as well as her long-standing core business of Personal Injury Litigation

Justine Sutton

Director & COLP/COFA

Justine has over 20 years experience practicing in law, and is the Director and COLP/COFA here at NJS Law.

In her personal life, Justine enjoys anything and everything Netball, going to the gym and spending time with her family. 

Adele Whittle

Solicitor - Head of Property & Estates

Adele is a qualified solicitor with over 20 years experience working in the legal sector, predominantly within Litigation.

Adele is the member of the management team responsible for the firms strategy, including the growth of a number of key areas of legal practice, heading up the Housing Disrepair and Probate Teams. She also has a keen interest in technology, in particular automation, and will be working on optimising the firm’s processes.

In her spare time Adele enjoys walking the family cockapoo, watching her son play sport, travelling to new places and is obsessed with all things interiors!

Leanne Henton

Solicitor - Head of Personal Injury

Leanne studied the Bar Vocational Course at the BPP Law School in Leeds, and graduated with Very Competent, before cross-qualifying as a Solicitor in 2013.

Leanne began her legal career in 2009, specialising in Personal Injury claims, with experience across Road Traffic Accidents, Employer and Public Liability cases, and Medical Negligence matters.

As Head of Personal Injury, Leanne is instrumental in driving the growth and evolution of the Employer and Public Liability team, along with the Medical, Dental, and Cosmetic Negligence departments.

In her personal life Leanne enjoys holidaying and days out with her young family.

Darrell Halstead

In-House Advocate & a member of the Management Team

Darrell possesses over three decades of experience as a qualified solicitor. What sets Darrell apart is his unique and diverse skill set, encompassing extensive expertise in both advocacy and litigation. His professional journey has been a multifaceted one, spanning legal aid work, family law, probate matters, residential conveyancing, and a wide spectrum of litigation.

Darrell has undertaken civil and family advocacy. In the realm of civil matters, he has participated in small claims proceedings, evaluated quantum aspects like stage 3 assessments, managed disposal hearings, handled various contested applications, and conducted case management conferences (CMC hearings).

In recent years, Darrell has honed his specialization in the realm of Personal Injury Litigation. His role extends beyond individual case management, as he provides valuable guidance and support to fellow fee earners in navigating challenge: This involves case reviews, client consultations, and active participation in conferences. Notably, Darrell assumes the additional role of the company’s in-house advocate, further showcasing his prowess.

Outside the professional sphere, Darrell finds solace in various pursuits. He indulges his love for cinema, relishes quality time with friends through entertaining gatherings, and dedicates a substantial portion of his leisure to strolls with his canine companion.

Nicola Harrison

Practice Manager

Nicola is the Practice Manager and brings over 17 years of experience in the legal profession and people management. She works closely with the Directors and Senior Management Team to oversee day-to-day operations and support the firm’s overall performance.

Originally from Cheshire, Nicola is a proud mum of two. She values the hands-on approach of the Directors and the strong team spirit across the firm, where everyone works together to achieve the best outcomes for both clients and the business.
