Alex Hardman is the Head of Finance at NJS Law and brings a strong background in legal finance and accounting operations. He studied Mathematics with Finance at the University of Leeds, graduating in 2018, before beginning his career in legal finance later that year.
Since entering the legal sector, Alex has progressed through a variety of roles including Junior Legal Cashier, Onboarding Manager, and Accounts Supervisor, before becoming a Management Accountant in 2021. His broad experience across finance operations and legal accounting has given him a detailed understanding of financial processes within law firms and the importance of accuracy, efficiency, and compliance.
As Head of Finance, Alex is responsible for leading NJS Law’s finance team, overseeing financial reporting, strategic planning, budgeting, and financial controls. Since joining the firm in 2025, he has played a key role in strengthening financial processes and supporting the firm’s continued growth and long-term success.
He also holds a Fellowship of the Institute of Legal Finance & Management (FILFM), having achieved the qualification in 2024 and obtaining the highest mark in the country for the Tax module — a reflection of his technical expertise and commitment to professional excellence.
Outside of work, Alex recently moved to Macclesfield and enjoys exploring the Peak District and everything the local area has to offer with his partner.
