Three quick checks

Most claims need all three — worth checking before you fill anything in.

1

It happened in the last three years

Most claims must be started within three years of the accident. For children, the clock doesn’t start until their 18th birthday.

2

Someone else was at least partly to blame

Another driver, a cyclist or motorcyclist, or a council that let the road fall into disrepair.

3

You needed medical attention

From a paramedic, GP, walk-in centre or hospital — at the time or since.

How your claim works

Four stages, from first call to compensation.

  1. 01

    Free eligibility check

A specialist talks through what happened and tells you honestly whether you have a claim.

  2. 02

    Medical assessment

We arrange an independent medical expert to record your injuries and how they affect you.

  3. 03

    Claim pursued

We deal with the other driver’s insurer or the MIB for you — including lost earnings, care, travel and treatment costs.

  4. 04

    No win, no fee

You only pay if you win. Our fee is then an agreed percentage of your compensation, capped and set out in writing before you sign — so nothing comes out of your own pocket.

What you can claim for

Any of these, caused by someone else’s negligence, could form the basis of a claim.

  • Rear-end & junction collisions
  • Roundabout & lane-change crashes
  • Passenger injuries
  • Motorbike & cycling accidents
  • Buses, taxis & lorries
  • Hit-and-run & uninsured drivers

Common questions

Will it cost me anything if my claim doesn’t succeed?

No. We act under a genuine no win, no fee agreement, which means you don’t pay our fees if your claim is unsuccessful.

Do the 2021 whiplash reforms affect my claim?

They may, if you were a driver or passenger in a car. Since May 2021, lower-value injury claims for drivers and passengers — where the injury part is worth up to £5,000 — go through the Official Injury Claim service, and whiplash is paid at fixed tariff amounts. More serious injuries fall outside those rules, as do claims by cyclists, motorcyclists, pedestrians and horse riders. Our free eligibility check will tell you which route applies to you.

I was a passenger. Can I claim if I know the driver?

Yes. Passengers are rarely to blame for an accident, and the claim is made against the responsible driver’s insurer — not the driver personally — even if they’re a friend or family member.

The other driver didn’t stop, or wasn’t insured. What now?

You may still be able to claim through the Motor Insurers’ Bureau (MIB), which compensates people injured by untraced or uninsured drivers. Report it to the police as soon as you can.

What if I was partly to blame?

You may still be able to claim. Compensation can be reduced to reflect your share of the blame — for example, if you weren’t wearing a seatbelt — but a reduced award is often still worth pursuing.

How long do I have to make a claim?

Usually three years from the date of the accident. For children, the three years starts on their 18th birthday. The sooner you start, the easier it is to gather evidence like dashcam or CCTV footage and witness details.
