Three quick checks

Most claims need all three — worth checking before you fill anything in.

1

It happened in the last three years

Most claims must be started within three years of the accident, or of when you first knew your injury was caused by someone else.

2

Someone else was at least partly to blame

An employer, another driver, a business, a council or a property owner who didn’t take reasonable care.

3

You needed medical attention

From a paramedic, GP, walk-in centre or hospital — at the time or since.

How your claim works

Four stages, from first call to compensation.

  1. 01

    Free eligibility check

A specialist talks through what happened and tells you honestly whether you have a claim.

  2. 02

    Medical assessment

We arrange an independent medical expert to record your injuries and how they affect you.

  3. 03

    Claim pursued

We deal with the other side’s insurer for you — including lost earnings, care, travel and treatment costs.

  4. 04

    No Win No Fee

You only pay if you win. Our fee is then an agreed percentage of your compensation, capped and set out in writing before you sign — so nothing comes out of your own pocket.

What you can claim for

Any of these, caused by someone else’s negligence, could form the basis of a claim.

  • Accidents at work
  • Road traffic accidents
  • Motorbike, cycling & pedestrian accidents
  • Slips, trips & falls
  • Accidents in public places
  • Accidents on someone else’s property

Common questions

Will it cost me anything if my claim doesn’t succeed?

No. We act under a genuine No Win No Fee agreement, which means you don’t pay our fees if your claim is unsuccessful.

How much compensation could I get?

It depends on your circumstances. We look at how serious your injury is and how long recovery takes, any long-term effects, time off work, care you’ve needed (including from family), adaptations to your home or car, and medical and travel costs. We’ll give you a realistic idea once we’ve seen the medical evidence.

How long do I have to make a claim?

Usually three years from the date of the accident, or from when you first knew your injury was caused by someone else’s negligence. For children, the three years starts on their 18th birthday. The sooner you start, the easier it is to gather evidence like CCTV, photos and witness details.

What if I was partly to blame?

You may still be able to claim. Compensation can be reduced to reflect your share of the blame, but a reduced award is often still worth pursuing.

I was injured at work. Will claiming affect my job?

Employers must hold insurance for exactly this kind of claim, so compensation is paid by their insurer rather than the business itself. Treating you unfairly for making a genuine claim could itself be unlawful, and we can advise you if that happens.

I was hurt in a car accident. Do the whiplash reforms apply?

They may, if you were a driver or passenger in a car. Since May 2021, lower-value injury claims for drivers and passengers — where the injury part is worth up to £5,000 — go through the Official Injury Claim service, and whiplash is paid at fixed tariff amounts. More serious injuries fall outside those rules, as do claims by cyclists, motorcyclists and pedestrians. Our free eligibility check will tell you which route applies.
