Three quick checks

Most claims need all three — worth checking before you fill anything in.

It happened in the last three years

Most claims must be started within three years of the accident.

Someone else was at least partly to blame

A driver, a lorry or bus, another road user, or a council that let the road fall into disrepair.

You needed medical attention

From a paramedic, GP, walk-in centre or hospital — at the time or since.

How your claim works

Four stages, from first call to compensation.

  1. Free eligibility check

A specialist talks through what happened and tells you honestly whether you have a claim.

  2. Medical assessment

We arrange an independent medical expert to record your injuries and how they affect you.

  3. Claim pursued

We deal with the driver's insurer, the council or the MIB for you — including your bike, gear and lost earnings.

  4. No win, no fee

You only pay if you win. Our fee is then an agreed percentage of your compensation, capped and set out in writing before you sign — so nothing comes out of your own pocket.

What you can claim for

Any of these, caused by someone else's negligence, could form the basis of a claim.

  • Hit by a car or van
  • Car dooring
  • Drivers pulling out at junctions
  • Potholes, diesel & road defects
  • Lorry & bus collisions
  • Hit-and-run & uninsured drivers

Common questions

Will it cost me anything if my claim doesn't succeed?

No. We act under a genuine no win, no fee agreement, which means you don't pay our fees if your claim is unsuccessful.

I was cycling without a helmet. Can I still claim?

Yes. On a bicycle, not wearing a helmet doesn't stop you claiming. Compensation may only be reduced if the other side can show a helmet would have made your injuries less serious.

The driver didn't stop, or wasn't insured. What now?

You may still be able to claim through the Motor Insurers' Bureau (MIB), which compensates people injured by untraced or uninsured drivers. Report it to the police as soon as you can.

How long do I have to make a claim?

Usually three years from the date of the accident. The sooner you start, the easier it is to gather evidence like dashcam or CCTV footage and witness details.

Can I claim for my bike and gear?

Yes. The cost of repairing or replacing your motorbike or bicycle, helmet, leathers or clothing, lights and devices damaged in the accident can be included, alongside your injury claim.

Do the 2021 whiplash reforms affect my claim?

No. Motorcyclists and cyclists are treated as vulnerable road users, so the whiplash tariffs and the Official Injury Claim portal that apply to car occupants don't apply to you.
